En 2023, el modelo conocido como Morfología Distribuida cumple 30 años si tomamos como referencia el texto fundacional de Halle & Marantz (1993). El presente manuscrito procura recuperar las características generales del modelo para luego avanzar en algunas de las discusiones actuales como la cantidad de categorizadores propuestos, la revisión de las operaciones postsintácticas y las propiedades de las raíces. Estas son tres líneas de investigación que dan cuenta de las revisiones al modelo y también de las proyecciones a futuro. Finalmente, este estado del arte se detiene en los trabajos pioneros realizados desde este enfoque en Argentina que se han plasmado en tesis y artículos en revistas especializadas.

In 2023, the framework known as Distributed Morphology will be 30 years old if we take as a reference the foundational text by Halle & Marantz (1993). The present manuscript attempts to recover the general features of the model and then to advance in some of the current discussions such as the number of proposed categorizers, the revision of the post-syntactic operations and the properties of roots. These are three lines of research that account for revisions of the model and also for future projections. Finally, this state-of-the-art looks at the pioneering work carried out on this approach in Argentina, which has taken the form of dissertations and articles in specialized journals.

<p align="justify">La siguiente tesis estudia un amplio número de construcciones del español rioplatense que contienen un clítico marginal de acusativo femenino (<em>la</em> y <em>las</em>). Adoptando el marco de la Morfología Distribuida (Halle & Marantz, 1993 y trabajos posteriores), perseguimos dos objetivos centrales. En primer lugar, nos proponemos llevar a cabo una descripción morfosintáctica, semántica y pragmática de los 452 verbos que integran el corpus diseñado, el cual está organizado en tres grupos con propiedades y comportamientos definidos: (i) verbos transitivos (e.g. <em>sacarla barata, cortarla</em>); (ii) verbos inergativos (e.g. <em>matearla, caretearla</em>); (iii) verbos inacusativos (e.g<em>. pirarla, morirla</em>). En segundo lugar, la propuesta incluye un análisis morfosintáctico del clítico marginal en relación a su interpretación semántica y su morfología de género, número y caso, y realiza un abordaje composicional y sintactista de la totalidad de las construcciones, a diferencia de la mayoría de los antecedentes en la bibliografía, que suelen ubicarlas dentro del ámbito de la lexicografía al considerarlas sintagmas (semi)lexicalizados, locuciones o unidades fraseológicas. Amén de que abarca en simultáneo tres tipos de estructuras que hasta el momento han sido estudiadas por separado (i-iii), una de las contribuciones de la tesis constituye el análisis de construcciones que no han sido exploradas en la literatura, dentro de las cuales se destacan casos de extraposición similares al inglés (e.g<em>. No me la esperaba que Juan sea un facho</em>), verbos meteorológicos (e.g. <em>La re llovió anoche</em>) y, fundamentalmente, verbos inacusativos con clítico acusativo marginal (e.g. <em>La re murió Harry al final</em>). En conclusión, mostramos que la gran mayoría de las secuencias estudiadas constituyen un fenómeno productivo regido por los principios de la sintaxis.</p>
<p align="justify"><strong>Abstract</strong><br />The following thesis studies an extensive range of structures characteristic of River Plate Spanish which contain an accusative feminine marginal clitic (<em>la</em> and <em>las</em>). Adopting the framework of Distributed Morphology (Halle & Marantz, 1993 and subsequent work), two main objectives are pursued. Firstly, we attempt to offer a morphosyntactic, semantic and pragmatic description of the 452 verbs of our corpus, which is organized in three groups according to their properities and behaviour: (i) transitive verbs (e.g. <em>sacarla barata, cortarla</em>); (ii) unergative verbs (e.g. <em>matearla, caretearla</em>); (iii) unaccusative verbs (e.g. <em>pirarla, morirla</em>). Secondly, we carry out a morphosyntactic analysis of the marginal clitic in relation to its semantic interpretation and its gender, number and case morphology. We also provide a syntactic and compositional analysis of the data, which is at odds with most previous work in the literature, as these constructions tend to be regarded as idiomatic expressions belonging to the realm of lexicography. Apart from dealing simultaneously with three types of structures which so far have been studied separately, one of the main contributions of the thesis includes the analysis of constructions which have not been explored in the bibliography, such as cases of extraposition analogous to English (e.g. <em>No me la esperaba que Juan sea un facho</em>), weather verbs (e.g. <em>La re llovió anoche</em>) and, above all, unaccusative verbs with accusative clitics (e.g. <em>La re murió Harry al final</em>). In conclusion, we demonstrate that the vast majority of the structures under study constitute a productive phenomenon ruled by the principles of syntax.</p>

<p text="" align="justify">La denominada concordancia <em>ad sensum</em> es uno de los fenómenos más llamativos en español y otras lenguas. En este trabajo nos proponemos demostrar que este tipo de concordancia puede explicarse por medio de mecanismos vinculados con los mismos factores que intervienen en la concordancia general, i. e., la estructura sintáctica y las operaciones morfológicas. Nuestra investigación se enmarca en el modelo de la Morfología Distribuida (Halle y Marantz 1993) y busca dar cuenta de las concordancias alternantes y del bloqueo de tal alternancia en determinados contextos, a partir de un análisis detallado de la estructura del Sintagma de Determinante y de los rasgos involucrados en las proyecciones funcionales del ámbito nominal.</p>
ABSTRACT <br />
<p text="" align="justify">The so-called <em>ad sensum</em> agreement is one of the most significant phenomena in Spanish and other languages. In this paper, we attempt to prove that this kind of agreement can be explained by the mechanisms related to the same factors involved in general agreement, i. e., the syntactic structure and the morphological operations. Our investigation is framed in Distributed Morphology (Halle y Marantz <a id="rid_j_shll-2016-0007_ref_024" href="https://www.degruyter.com/view/j/shll.2016.9.issue-1/shll-2016-0007/shll-2016-0007.xml#j_shll-2016-0007_ref_024" class="xref">1993</a>) and it pretends to explain the alternating agreement and the blocking of this alternation in particular contexts, by analyzing, in detail, the structure of the Determiner Phrase and the features involved in the functional projections of the nominal scope.</p>

<p>El sistema de posesivos de las lenguas romances constituye un ámbito de interés para los estudios sobre el cambio lingüístico. En esta presentación, nos detenemos en algunos cambios registrados en catalán, con el fin de desarrollar una explicación desde el modelo de la Morfología Distribuida. Específicamente, abordamos la formación de los femeninos analógicos y la pérdida de la distinción entre poseedor único y poseedores múltiples para la tercera persona. Nuestra finalidad es responder desde este enfoque las siguientes preguntas: ¿qué cambia? y ¿cómo se puede explicar ese cambio? A partir de este abordaje, concluimos que las modificaciones en el sistema de posesivos del catalán son el resultado de cambios que tienen lugar en la Estructura Morfológica. Asimismo, las discusiones planteadas y la comparación con los posesivos de otras lenguas romances nos permiten presentar argumentos en contra de la direccionalidad del cambio lingüístico.<br /><br /></p>
<p><b>Abstract</b></p>
<p>The possessive system in Romance languages constitutes an interesting area of research on linguistic change. In this presentation, we specifically explore some changes observed in Catalan, in order to develop an explanation within the Distributed Morphology framework. Concretely, we study the development of analogic feminine possessives and the loss of the one-possessor/multiple-possessor distinction in the third person paradigm. Our goal is to answer the following questions in the Distributed Morphology framework: what changes? and how is this change explained? We conclude that the modifications in the possessive system of Catalan are the result of changes in the Morphological Structure. Moreover, following the discussions outlined and the comparison with the possessive systems in other Romance languages we present arguments against the directionality of language change.</p>
