<span>El presente trabajo tiene como objeto abordar el último disco de la autora y artista muscogee Joy Harjo para indagar de qué manera se produce el encuentro entre la música nativa y los elementos del poprock que se fusionan en los temas. Resulta indispensable, además, analizar cómo se construye la identidad cultural del disco no solo en lo que respecta a los estilos musicales que se entrelazan sino a la experiencia que se narra en las letras. El análisis pretende dar cuenta de cómo la autora se sirve de una diversidad de lenguajes (la lengua muscogee, la lengua inglesa, los instrumentos muscogee y del pop-rock) para transmitir una identidad etno-nacional que, argumentamos, es el resultado de un proceso de transculturación. Por último, música y narración se entrelazan para configurar un lugar de la memoria en el que se dibujan imágenes y sonidos que evocan el pasado de la nación muscogee, su presente y, tal vez, su dirección futura. </span>
The aim of this paper is to address the last music album released by Joy Harjo, author and artist of the Muscogee nation, in order to discuss the way in which the different elements of pop-rock and native music come together. This will lead us to approach, as well, the cultural identity that the album constructs not only regarding the fusion of music styles but also with respect to the subject’s experience narrated in the lyrics. Our analysis will take us to enquire into how the author uses a series of languages (the Muscogee language, the English language, the language of music in the use of Muscogee instruments and pop-rock) to transmit an ethno-national identity that, we argue, is the result of a transculturation process. Last, music and narration sing together to create a site of memory in which images and sounds that represent the past, present and, perhaps, future direction of the Muscogee nation are (re)created.

Este trabajo es el resultado de un proceso de investigación que comenzó años atrás y cuyo objetivo era indagar la traducción y las dificultades que presenta en áreas poco exploradas, áreas como la traducción de poesía performativa donde la problemática cultural se ubica en el centro del debate (Fernández Rabanetti, 2020). Desde un principio, fue necesario adoptar una nueva mirada frente a la traducción, ya que el objeto de estudio requería tomar categorías de disciplinas diversas para profundizar el análisis. Y esto es justamente lo que propusieron estudiosos de la traducción como Stefano Arduini y Siri Nergaard quienes se abocaron a redefinir el rol de la traducción y ampliar sus fronteras (2011: 9). En el fascículo inaugural de su revista translation: an transisciplinary journal anunciaron el comienzo de una nueva era: la de los “posestudios” de traducción. Ambos autores plantean que, en esta nueva era, la investigación en traducción necesita recibir aportes de otras disciplinas y, a su vez, insertarse en espacios intelectuales que excedan las fronteras tradicionales de la traducción y establecer así un enriquecedor diálogo interdisciplinar. Casi seis años más tarde, Edwin Gentzler publica el libro Translation and Rewriting in the Age of Posttranslation Studies (2017) anunciando que la traducción ha debido reinventarse y proponer parámetros más inclusivos, teorías menos estáticas y un estudio más incisivo de lo social y psicológico: “En un mundo en constante movimiento y migración, la traducción habilita al individuo a reconciliarse consigo mismo, a entender su identidad multilingüe y a poner voz a su historia personal”1 (Gentzler, 2017: 231).

Este libro surge de las inquietudes y objetivos que delinearon el proyecto de investigación que, bajo el mismo título, se desarrolló en la Facultad de Lenguas de la Universidad Nacional del Comahue entre 2015 y fines de 2019. La elaboración del proyecto estuvo guiada por la necesidad de articular la tarea investigativa con la tarea docente del equipo en las áreas de literatura de las carreras de Traductorado en Inglés y de Profesorado en Inglés y, a la vez, con el interés de contribuir al estudio de estas literaturas y su divulgación. El proyecto inicial contemplaba, como parte de sus objetivos y a modo de religamiento cultural, una publicación que incluyera la traducción de una selección de textos de las literaturas bajo estudio, así como algunos estudios teórico-críticos y traductológicos elaborados por miembros del equipo. Nos motivó a ello el hecho que estas literaturas, aun cuando parte de la riqueza cultural de nuestras Américas, por diversos motivos permanecen todavía prácticamente desconocidas para el lector hispanohablante de gran parte de América Latina, para el ámbito escolar y, con algunas excepciones desde hace unas pocas décadas, para la Academia.

Este libro surge de las inquietudes y objetivos que delinearon el proyecto de investigación que, bajo el mismo título, se desarrolló en la Facultad de Lenguas de la Universidad Nacional del Comahue entre 2015 y fines de 2019. OBJETIVO GENERAL<br />
<p align="justify">Analizar, en el marco del diálogo entre migración, memoria y traducción cultural, la escritura creativa y traducciones al español de las regiones angloparlantes enmarcadas en el Atlántico y que conformaron en el pasado parte del imperio británico.<br /><br />OBJETIVOS ESPECIFICOS<br />1. Continuar con el proceso de formación de recursos humanos en el área de las literaturas menores (Deleuze y Guattari)<br />2. Indagar sobre las estrategias de construcción de la memoria y sus articulaciones con la diferencia en contextos de migración.<br />3. Identificar las subjetividades construidas desde estas escrituras en el marco de la traducción cultural en un sentido amplio.<br />4. Indagar sobre el rol de las lenguas en las construcciones de la memoria, como sitios de la memoria en sí mismas.<br />5. Analizar las traducciones como construcción de sujetos transculturales.<br />6. Realizar una publicación final que reúna traducciones de algunos artículos de crítica cultural realizadas por integrantes del equipo así como artículos de ccrítica y sobre traducción elaborados por los miembros del equipo a modo de religamiento cultural.<br /><br /></p>

Chicano Identity : The Reconstruction of Mexican Myths by ire'ne lara silva
Abstract

<strong>Introducción.</strong><br />
<p align="justify"><em>flesh to bone (</em>2013) is a collection of nine short stories written by Chicana author ire'ne lara silva. These stories delve into some of the most popular Mexican folk-tales and depict a landscape where everything is possible, the boundaries between life and death are blurred, there are shifting realities, violence, magical transformations and, ultimately, healing. Some folk-tales are widespread like La Llorona, also known as La Malinche, others are myths and stories transmitted by the author's own family. Silva has expressed her fascination with the idea of creating new myths, in ways that build on figures that resonate with other mythic figures: “I believe we have a fundamental need for myth. For stories that are larger than ourselves or our realities, for stories that speak to our culture(s), for stories that teach us something about life” (Silva 2014). In her writing process, Silva rewrites these myths from a feminist and Chicana perspective subverting the underlying patriarchal roles and the boundaries between the living and the dead. In ‘cortando las nubes or death came on horses’ the myth of La Llorona gets reconstructed, she is remembered, respected and understood. Silva manages to give this suffering woman a voice she lacks in the popular version of the horror myth. ‘cortando las nubes or death came on horses’ tells the story of a woman from the Yaqui community and her three children, Marigold, Tomás and Cempasuchil, who are brutally murdered by white colonizers and roam the earth helping indigenous communities and collecting those who die at the hands of the whites. <br />As Norma Alarcón states, “Feminism is a way of saying that nothing in patriarchy truly reflects women unless we accept distortions – mythic and historical” (189). Chicanas, and especially queer Chicanas, occupy a unique position from which they recognize these distortions. Following the ideas presented by Kate Millet, a pioneering author in contemporary feminism, a study that adopts a feminist approach to literature will analyse the patriarchal relationships between characters in the narrative. The present work is intended to analyse ire'ne lara silva’s "cortando las nubes or death came on horses"<span> </span><span>a short story from </span><em>flesh to bone</em><span> (2013) from a feminist perspective. It will be argued that, in her re-imagination of a traditional myth, the author honours and celebrates her identity as Chicana.</span></p>
