Biografía
Camila Siegel Masias es profesora de inglés y Experta Universitaria en Formación de Profesores de Inglés como Lengua Extranjera. Se desempeña como docente de inglés con propósitos específicos desde 2016 (Facultad de Lenguas, UNCo, CRUB) en la carrera de Profesorado en Educación Física. Formó parte del Proyecto de Investigación <a href="http://bibliotecadelenguas.uncoma.edu.ar/items/show/202">J019</a> como integrante alumna de la Universidad Nacional del Comahue, Facultad de Lenguas. En este momento es integrante del proyecto <a href="http://bibliotecadelenguas.uncoma.edu.ar/items/show/328">J029</a> “Contextos, discursos y prácticas interculturales en la formación de guías universitarios de turismo en San Martín de los Andes: Un estudio de caso con adultos jóvenes de pueblos originarios en clases de inglés como lengua extranjera.”

Biografía
<span>José Silva Garcés es profesor en Letras (2012) y magíster en Lingüística (2019) por la Universidad Nacional del Comahue y doctor en Humanidades —mención Letras— (2023) por la Universidad Nacional del Litoral. Actualmente, es becario posdoctoral de CONICET y profesor adjunto de Gramática española en la Facultad de Humanidades (UNComa). Desde 2016 participa de proyectos de investigación y de extensión relacionados con la variación lingüística. Su campo de investigación es el estudio del español patagónico desde una perspectiva formal.<br /></span>

Primer premio en el concurso a la mejor tesis doctoral de lingüística de Argentina, bienio 2023-2025, otorgado por la SOCIEDAD ARGENTINA DE ESTUDIOS LINGÜÍSTICOS. En este certamen fueron evaluadas 10 tesis.<br /><br />Primer lugar en la ponderación de proyectos postdoctorales Fondecyt 2025 en el Grupo de LINGÜÍSTICA, LITERATURA Y FILOLOGÍA. Actualmente, es becario posdoctoral de CONICET y profesor adjunto de Gramática española en la Facultad de Humanidades (UNComa). Abstract
A summary of the resource.
This work presents a study on the reduction of single-use plastics in a neighborhood delicatessen, based on the application of sustainable accounting principles and Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) No. 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. Using an experimental and mixed-methods approach, direct observations, interviews, and surveys were conducted with owners, employees, and customers. Additionally, intervention strategies were implemented, such as charging for plastic bags, placing informative posters, and promoting reusable bags and returnable containers. The results demonstrated that the combined measures, especially charging for plastic bags and visual awareness, significantly reduced the use of disposable materials and fostered habit changes in consumers. Furthermore, limitations related to the low acceptance of returnable containers due to hygiene concerns were identified. In conclusion, the project confirms the feasibility of applying sustainable practices in micro-enterprises, showing that environmental responsibility and economic profitability can coexist in a complementary way, contributing to the transformation of consumption patterns and the fulfillment of global sustainability goals.

Durante el año 2025, la Cátedra de Inglés de la Facultad de Economía, a cargo de la profesora María Belén Martínez del Departamento de Idiomas con Propósitos Específicos, desarrolló un trabajo basado en proyectos. A lo largo del cursado, los estudiantes llevaron adelante proyectos de investigación–servicio en los que articularon sus saberes de inglés con los contenidos propios de sus carreras y con la resolución de problemáticas reales de la comunidad. El proceso incluyó la lectura y el análisis de textos académicos en inglés para la elaboración del marco teórico, la selección de un problema relevante, el diseño e implementación de una metodología de investigación, y la comparación de resultados con los aportes de autores especializados. Cada proyecto culminó con la redacción de un informe final en formato de paper, presentado en español e inglés, siguiendo una plantilla estandarizada.

<p text="" align="justify">La denominada concordancia <em>ad sensum</em> es uno de los fenómenos más llamativos en español y otras lenguas. En este trabajo nos proponemos demostrar que este tipo de concordancia puede explicarse por medio de mecanismos vinculados con los mismos factores que intervienen en la concordancia general, i. e., la estructura sintáctica y las operaciones morfológicas. Nuestra investigación se enmarca en el modelo de la Morfología Distribuida (Halle y Marantz 1993) y busca dar cuenta de las concordancias alternantes y del bloqueo de tal alternancia en determinados contextos, a partir de un análisis detallado de la estructura del Sintagma de Determinante y de los rasgos involucrados en las proyecciones funcionales del ámbito nominal.</p>
ABSTRACT <br />
<p text="" align="justify">The so-called <em>ad sensum</em> agreement is one of the most significant phenomena in Spanish and other languages. In this paper, we attempt to prove that this kind of agreement can be explained by the mechanisms related to the same factors involved in general agreement, i. e., the syntactic structure and the morphological operations. Our investigation is framed in Distributed Morphology (Halle y Marantz <a id="rid_j_shll-2016-0007_ref_024" href="https://www.degruyter.com/view/j/shll.2016.9.issue-1/shll-2016-0007/shll-2016-0007.xml#j_shll-2016-0007_ref_024" class="xref">1993</a>) and it pretends to explain the alternating agreement and the blocking of this alternation in particular contexts, by analyzing, in detail, the structure of the Determiner Phrase and the features involved in the functional projections of the nominal scope.</p>

Todo el tiempo surgen palabras y expresiones nuevas y los hablantes somos sensibles a estas innovaciones. En este ensayo divulgativo nos centramos en las condiciones que determinan, por un lado, el surgimiento de nuevas expresiones y, por el otro, que algunas de ellas se queden para siempre mientras que otras permanezcan solo un rato y luego se vayan como vinieron.

Cecilia Andrea Sorbellini es Profesora de Inglés (UNCo) y Máster en Enseñanza del Inglés como Lengua Extranjera (Universidad de Jaén). Se desempeña como Jefe de Trabajos Prácticos regular en las cátedras de Inglés para las carreras de Medicina y Licenciatura y Profesorado en Comunicación Social de la UNCo. Es investigadora categoría V de la Facultad de Lenguas (UNCo), e integra el proyecto J026 “Recursos léxicos de ocurrencia frecuente en textos académicos en lengua extranjera inglés: puntos de contacto y especificidad disciplinar”, dirigido por la Mg. Reina Himelfarb y co-dirigido por la Trad. María Inés Grundnig, de dicha Unidad Académica.

When assessing EFL students in comparison to a framework based on native-like proficiency, speaking is a controversial issue to be tested in a world where most speakers of English are non-natives. In these contexts, the native-like ability has been recently questioned towards an intercultural ultimate goal, given that many aspects of the speaking skill, which reflects characteristics of one's culture, do not interfere in communicative situations (Byram 1997, 2009, Corbett 2003, Liddicoat & Scarino 2013). This suggests that alternative methods and theoretical frameworks for assessing (Cf. Luoma 2004), where continuous assessment is seen as a contributor to learning, can shed some light on how to test students' speaking skills when English is spoken as a lingua franca. Without neglecting many of the aspects of more traditional methods, we will develop and suggest practical tools for assessing speaking through an intercultural approach in university EFL courses in Argentina. We will reflect on the different ways to assess speaking, bearing in mind an intercultural speaker and the social functions of the language.

<p>Since 1997 we have been researching the acquisition of instrumentals, initially, compounds, then dor- derived nominals and finally, a comparison of both forms. Spanish-speaking children of ages between 2 and 8 were asked to produce the researched forms as names for non-existent instruments under varied experimental circumstances. Throughout 2004 a case study was carried out to record spontaneous productions of both verb-noun compounds and -dor instrumentals by three children of 2, 3 and 7 years of age. This paper presents the data-gathering procedures, the analysis of the results obtained in this case study and the interpretation of these spontaneous productions in the light of the results discussed in previous investigations.</p>

The following report describes the project carried out by the group “Lost in Translation,” which addressed the issue of difficulties in youth labor insertion, aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth. The main cause identified is the lack of essential tools, such as interview preparation and the preparation of an adequate curriculum vitae (CV), due to the prioritization of formal academic education over practical workplace skills in the educational system. The objective was to implement a formative and interactive talk aimed at high school students who were close to graduating, focusing on CVs, demanded soft skills, and frequent situations in job interviews. The methodology consisted of a quantitative descriptive study applied to sixth-year students in a technical orientation (18–19 years old) from Epet No. 18, using surveys before and after the intervention. The results confirmed the need for the intervention, given that 55.6% of participants had no work experience, and 92.6% had never had an interview. Significant knowledge gaps were detected, as 51.7% reported having "very little information" on how to put together a basic CV before the talk, and 75.9% did not know about employment platforms in the area, apart from LinkedIn. Following the intervention, a high positive impact on perceived preparedness was recorded: 96.6% stated they had obtained sufficient tools to feel more confident when seeking employment, and 100% analyzed general guidelines regarding a job interview. The level of interest was notably high, with 93.1% of those surveyed rating the talk with 8, 9, or 10 points. The conclusion establishes that the talk was an effective catalyst for confidence and knowledge in the short term [Revised Conclusion]. To consolidate the long-term impact, the creation and delivery of a digital guide (PDF) with CV templates and frequently asked questions is recommended, facilitating autonomous learning and reinforcing the quality of the intervention.

A lo largo del cursado, los estudiantes llevaron adelante proyectos de investigación–servicio en los que articularon sus saberes de inglés con los contenidos propios de sus carreras y con la resolución de problemáticas reales de la comunidad. El proceso incluyó la lectura y el análisis de textos académicos en inglés para la elaboración del marco teórico, la selección de un problema relevante, el diseño e implementación de una metodología de investigación, y la comparación de resultados con los aportes de autores especializados. Cada proyecto culminó con la redacción de un informe final en formato de paper, presentado en español e inglés, siguiendo una plantilla estandarizada.

Este libro surge de las inquietudes y objetivos que delinearon el proyecto de investigación que, bajo el mismo título, se desarrolló en la Facultad de Lenguas de la Universidad Nacional del Comahue entre 2015 y fines de 2019. La elaboración del proyecto estuvo guiada por la necesidad de articular la tarea investigativa con la tarea docente del equipo en las áreas de literatura de las carreras de Traductorado en Inglés y de Profesorado en Inglés y, a la vez, con el interés de contribuir al estudio de estas literaturas y su divulgación. El proyecto inicial contemplaba, como parte de sus objetivos y a modo de religamiento cultural, una publicación que incluyera la traducción de una selección de textos de las literaturas bajo estudio, así como algunos estudios teórico-críticos y traductológicos elaborados por miembros del equipo. Nos motivó a ello el hecho que estas literaturas, aun cuando parte de la riqueza cultural de nuestras Américas, por diversos motivos permanecen todavía prácticamente desconocidas para el lector hispanohablante de gran parte de América Latina, para el ámbito escolar y, con algunas excepciones desde hace unas pocas décadas, para la Academia.

Sustainability has become a central concern in light of the environmental, social, and economic challenges that threaten global well-being. However, its frequent use often lacks scientific precision. Morelli (2011) defines it as the condition in which human needs are met without compromising the regenerative capacity of ecosystems, emphasizing the interdependence between environmental, social, and economic systems. In higher education, universities can serve as “living laboratories” to promote sustainability and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (Purcell et al., 2019). Based on this premise, we conducted a quantitative study among users of the common spaces at the National University of Comahue to learn about their perspectives before and after implementing awareness interventions on the use of these spaces and to determine whether their conditions impact productivity. The results show that, after the changes were made and awareness was raised about their use, users tend to remember to care for them and therefore feel more comfortable, which in turn increases their productivity.

This research addresses the issue of single-use plastic consumption within the university environment and proposes an integrated model that combines economic, institutional, and behavioral approaches to reduce it. The study adopts a quantitative approach based on surveys administered to students, faculty, and administrative staff at the National University of Comahue, particularly within the Faculty of Economics and Administration. Its aim is to identify consumption habits, levels of environmental awareness, and willingness to change.
The results reveal a high level of concern about the environmental impact of plastics and a positive attitude toward adopting sustainable practices, although structural barriers—such as the lack of adequate infrastructure and the persistence of ingrained habits—remain. It is concluded that effectively reducing single-use plastics requires coordination among environmental education, institutional policies, and material resources that facilitate everyday sustainable actions.
This research contributes to the development of strategies applicable in university contexts seeking to advance toward an environmentally responsible culture and more sustainable resource management.

<p stuyle="" text="" align="justify">Gabriela es profesora regular en el área de inglés con propósitos específicos (Facultad de Lenguas, UNCo., Sede San Martín de los Andes) y se desempeña como docente en la Maestría en Lingüística Aplicada de la Facultad de Lenguas, UNCo. <br />Ha participado en proyectos de investigación y actualmente dirige el <a href="https://bibliotecadelenguas.uncoma.edu.ar/items/show/595">proyecto J036</a> “<span>La dimensión de ciudadanía intercultural en la enseñanza del inglés mediante la utilización de una pedagogía AICLE. Investigación acción participativa en una escuela primaria rural del Neuquén</span>”. Dirigió un proyecto de voluntariado universitario “Lenguas y Culturas cerca de tuyo” (UNCo.) y participó como integrante en un proyecto espejo de la UNLP. Es miembro del comité editorial de la revista AJAL, FAAPI.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">Elegimos esta temática porque nos interesa la docencia y consideramos que aporta a nuestra formación. En segundo lugar, porque consideramos que el paso por la escuela formal deja huellas en nosotros y creemos que la relación que se genera entre los docentes y los estudiantes es muy significativa a lo largo de toda nuestra vida. En este sentido, trabajar con un texto académico que aborda la importancia de la relación entre los profesores y estudiantes y sobre formas para mejorar esa relación y con ello mejorar el aprendizaje, nos pareció una propuesta muy interesante. Creemos también, al vincularse con nuestra área específica, que es la comunicación, puede enriquecer mucho nuestras prácticas como futuros formadores.</p>
